The chart of the week looks at the number of available rentals in New York. As you can see, starting in April/May of 2020, the amount of vacancies increased considerably and then started to come back in October 2020.  They are now back to pre-pandemic levels. This is one area of the economy that has gone back to normal but many others including vacant office space, shipping costs and car inventories remain very different than prior to the pandemic.
