The chart of the week focuses on wage growth. Although inflation is often associated with negative effects as we tend to discuss rising prices, wage inflation is actually a benefit for consumers. Wage growth peaked in late 2022, exceeding 6.5%, but has since steadily declined and is now below 5%. Nevertheless, a 5% increase in wages is still substantial and is likely to continue to satisfy employees, particularly if inflation costs can decrease below 3%.
